ASSITEJ Theatre Festival for children and young adults

The Icelandic national centre for ASSITEJ - International Association of Theatre for Children and Young people have launched their first theatre festival for children and young adults. The festival is held in association with the Reykjavik Children´s Culture Festival 2013. http://www.barnamenningarhatid.is/english

Most festival events will take place in Tjarnarbio Theatre and Iðnó during April 24th to the 28th and are free of charge.

The schedule of ASSITEJ includes three award winning children performances:

Other events include:

A Nordic guest performance, Martyres without talent by PotatoPotato based on the novel Píslavottar án hæfileika written by the Icelandic author Kári Tulinius.

Three workshops for different age groups will be hosted by M.A. students in the Department of Art Education at Iceland Academy of the Arts.

An open reading of a new Icelandic children´s play Útlenski drengurinn (a.k.a. the foreign boy) in Iðnó.
