- What is it?: Members of the metal act Skálmöld (Reign of Terror) and Reykjavík City Theatre artists have joined forces and are conjuring up Nordic sorcery with a helping of metal music marinated in theatre. The story is that of Baldur, so artfully narrated by Skálmöld in their record of the same name, making metal fans of half the nation. The band Skálmöld has received rapturous reviews for its records, Baldur and Börn Loka (Loki’s Children) which seek inspiration in metal music and Nordic myths. The records stand independently, as well as forming a whole, the music and the lyrics creating a continuous narrative and the lyrics all thoroughly composed in accordance with old Icelandic poetry metre.
