  • A new Icelandic play about the harsh yet wondrous life of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo. Brynhildur Guðjónsdóttir, who won the Gríman Theatre Award as Best Playwright and Best Actress of 2008, takes to the stage as Frida Kahlo, in her own play about the intense and passionate life of this special artist. Frida… viva la vida is a journey through the unique world of a passionate woman, who with her grief and pain wrote a wondrous poem of her own life on canvas – harsh yet beautiful, loud yet peaceful.
