        • What is it?: „My Mother-in-law“ is a story about a war child who is searching for her father for decades. A story of a brave heart with a restless will and desire to seek out the truth about who she is and where she comes from. A story of a young girl fighting the system and the prejudice of a small community. A story of hope, love, losses and an unexpected phone call. „My Mother-in-law“ was the winner of four awards at the 2012 Icelandic Theatre Awards, including the award for „Production of the Year“. The story is very personal to the artists involved in the work. It is written and performed by the “war child’s” son-in-law, Valur Freyr Einarsson; and Valur’s wife,Ilmur Stefánsdóttir, the daughter of the „war child“, designed the play’s set and the costumes.
